Shymkent's Tourism Potential Presented in China
In the Chinese capital, Beijing, a forum is being held as part of the opening of the Year of Tourism of Kazakhstan in the People's Republic of China, organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan.
As part of the business event, each region of Kazakhstan presents its tourist potential and investment opportunities to Chinese tour operators, exhibition organizers, and entrepreneurs. Shymkent, the city in focus, is no exception.
Shymkent's booth at the forum in Beijing is designed in a national style, showcasing the tradition of hospitality by treating participants to dishes of Kazakh national cuisine such as kazy, baursaks, and nauryz koje. National customs are also demonstrated at the booth.
One of the honored guests of the booth was the Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ermek Marzhikpayev.
During the panel session of the forum, the First Deputy Akim (Mayor) of Shymkent, Kuanysh Asylov, delivered a speech. He noted that among Shymkent's tourist advantages are the combination of historical monuments and modern attractions, favorable climate, and hospitality. As for the investment potential, the city is creating all necessary conditions for investors.
In April-May, a delegation of tour operators from China will visit Shymkent to familiarize themselves with the city's infrastructure firsthand.
It is worth reminding that the Year of Tourism of Kazakhstan in China was announced during the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to the PRC in 2023.
