Seminar on State Support Measures for Investment Activities Held in Shymkent
A seminar on explaining state support measures for investment and entrepreneurial activities was held in Shymkent. The event was organized by NC “KAZAKH INVEST” JSC with the support of the Akimat of Shymkent city and the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs “Atameken”, bringing together representatives of the business community, development institutions, and industrial zones.
Speakers included Murat Zakiryanov, Deputy Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, as well as representatives from KAZAKH INVEST, QazIndustry, KazakhExport, Development Bank of Kazakhstan, Damu Fund, and QazTrade. They presented the current state support measures available to investors, including tax and customs incentives, investment preferences, service-based support tools, post-investment facilitation mechanisms, and procedures for interaction with government agencies.
Special attention was given to regional project implementation issues, such as ensuring engineering infrastructure, the functioning of industrial zones, regulatory requirements, and procedures for obtaining state support. Representatives of KAZAKH INVEST highlighted the company’s role as a “one-stop shop” for investors, providing comprehensive support throughout all project stages – from signing investment agreements to receiving incentives.
As part of the visit, the KAZAKH INVEST delegation visited two key investment projects in Shymkent – QazAlPack and Wan Sheng Ceramic. QazAlPack is implementing an aluminum packaging production project focused on import substitution, while Wan Sheng Ceramic is developing ceramic tile production with strong export potential. Participants were presented with information about the current project status, technological processes, and future development plans, demonstrating the practical impact of government support measures on industrial project implementation.
The seminar served as an effective dialogue platform between entrepreneurs and development institutions. Participants discussed practical challenges encountered during project implementation and received clarifications on further actions. Representatives of government bodies emphasized that all proposals received during the session would be reviewed in due course.
The event was held in a constructive atmosphere, contributing to the strengthening of cooperation between business, government, and development institutions, as well as to raising investor awareness about available support instruments.
